Food trip: Day and Night

LIPA'S SAVORY HIDEAWAYS
Like Manila, Lipa City has their signature restaurants and bars. Probably, people may say that Lipa’s restaurants and bars are just as the same as what Manila’s offering. I tell you, in some way or another, Lipa has something different to offer.

One restaurant in the city named Lipa Grill is something to try! It is located along P.Toress St., Antipolo Del Norte, Lipa, just before Carmel Church. Lipa Grill has their specialties of viands like bulalo, crispy pata, beef, seafoods kare-kare and grilled meat and seafood. Of course, drinks and desserts are also served. Food in Lipa Grill ranges from 370 php and below wherein a family of four having a thousand pesos would already be satisfied. Lipa Grill is a place where most likely a family can gather to have lunch or dinner and bond, at the same time have a good time with the food being served to them.

Another restaurant to try is MNL Ice Cream Cafe wherein MNL stands for Mataas na Lupa such that the cafe is located there. MNL Ice Cream Cafe offers an ambiance that a typical barkada would like to have; a place wherein you could chill, eat and have good times with your friends. MNL offers good appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pastas and entrees. They also have FIC ice cream sold which is really good for dessert. Budget conscious? Do not worry. Prices of food in MNL range from 65Php to 155Php. With 200Php in your wallet, you’ll be able to experience a combination of good food and good company with people close to you.

MNL Ice Cream Cafe is located along B.Morada Ave., Mataas na Lupa, just across Mc Donald's Highway.

Dulcissima's best selling Cream puffs

Dulcissima Bake Shop wherein the best cream puffs are found is something to try! Yes, a lot of well known bake shops can be selling cream puffs as well, but no...Dulcissima’s cream puffs are mouthwatering from the caramel syrup on the outside ‘til its creamy core inside! Its aroma is one thing you can’t resist and every bite is something worth eating. Besides their famous cream puffs, they sell a lot more varieties of pastries like cheesecakes, brownies, cookies, tarts and a lot more. They sell their products by piece or by box in an affordable price. A box of six creampuffs only costs a hundred pesos. Perfect for pampasalubong for your siblings and the family! Surely, Dulcissima’s pastries is worth a try!

Dulcissima Bake Shop's main branch is located at C.M. Recto Ave.,cor. J.M. Kalaw St. (the street in between Jollibee and Rose Pharmacy). On the other hand, they have another branch inside South Supermarket along Ayala Highway.

BOOZE AROUND TOWN
If you want to experience night life in the city, well then I've got good news--bars do exist in Lipa!

Central BBQ Boy Grill is one of the newest bars in Lipa and is surprisingly different from all the other Central branches located in Taft, BF Homes Las Pinas and in Paranaque. Central Lipa is actually big and spacious (with a very large open parking lot). Plus, its open area makes the ambiance worth staying. You enjoy the music, your drinks, the food, and Lipa’s fresh cold air at night. Central offers beers, hard drinks and of course cocktails. Their well-known cocktails named Bad Girl, Bad Boy and Badtrip is something to try. They offer a promo for their drinks for only 699 PhP; 3 pitchers of the cocktail you choose plus a combination of the “pulutan” you want to have. Central Lipa is somewhere to get sober and enjoy the night with your family or friends and enjoy the place as well. Visit their bar at Ayala Highway, beside Metrobank-Ayala and Monti's Hotel across Figaro.

Another restaurant bar found in Lipa is Twenty Eight-4 Bar and Restaurant. With its location only to be a few minutes away from STAR Tollway's Tambo Exit, Twenty Eight-4 is an easy visit for those who travel with cars.

However, Twenty Eight–4 is quite different from Central. If you would want to experience live performances of singers or bands who sing good music, then Twenty Eight–4 is the perfect place for you. They have their everyday Acoustic sessions with different acoustic bands famous in Lipa while during Fridays and Saturday nights, they have their Weekend Live Band Action featuring the best show bands in the city.

Spend time in their kubo with a group of friends or with your family while listening to good music, having a drink and feeling the cold air. Enjoy the places’ music, drinks and fresh air. They sell beer, liquors, shots, and cocktails as well for reasonable prices. Indeed, Twenty Eight-4 is a bar to try!

BUT THERE'S MORE!
Other than the listed two, there are a lot more bars to discover around the town. You might want to try Metro Bar located just across SM City Lipa, at Hotel ni Mang Jose bldg. Another bar which is located at Brgy. Sico, Lipa is the Lounge at Auto X or L.A.X. Superclub. If you want a simple inuman session with your colleagues and friends, you might want to visit Kuya Clyde's Ihaw Ihaw: Chicken Ati-atihan near Lipa's Starbucks Coffee along J.P. Laurel Highway. On the other hand, if you're the party animal, dancing queen of the dance floor, or the unli shots addict, you might want to visit Aristeo's Resto Bar (They have scheduled open parties. Check their page here for more details.)
